Workshop on "Women in Engineering: Importance and Challenges" - for International Women's Day 2012

8 March 2012, UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France

The debate explored success stories of women engineers from different cultures and identified women role-models.

It also focused on the challenges and difficulties that women engineers face throughout their careers and voluntary work, and tried to answer these questions:

  • How can we make engineering more attractive to young women?
  • How can we increase the number of women in engineering through concrete proposals?

Women engineers from around the world participated.
