Bureau of States Parties

Sixth Meeting of States Parties, 2017

The Bureau of the 2001 Convention is a select group of representatives who are responsible for preparing and overseeing the Meeting of States Parties for the Convention. The Bureau coordinates the work of the Meeting, sets the order of business, and facilitates the Meeting. The Bureau consists of a Chairperson, a Rapporteur, and four Vice-Chairpersons, who are elected by the Committee at the beginning of each of its ordinary sessions.

The current Bureau of the seventh session of the Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on the Protection of Underwater Cultural Heritage is comprised of the following representatives:

Chairperson: Ghazi Gherairi (Tunisia)

Rapporteur: Franck Armel Afoukou (Benin)

Vice-Chairs: Cambodia, Italy, Panama and Romania
