About the Office

In 1997, the Palestinian National Authority represented by His Excellency Mr. Yasser Arafat signed an establishment agreement with UNESCO to establish a Liaison office in Ramallah. The agreement was supported by the Israeli Government.

The office was located in the center of Ramallah having the key staff to ensure the smooth operation and functioning of the main sectors, including: Education & Higher Education, Culture & Cultural Heritage and Communication & Information. Main activities were launched to provide the Palestinian Community with the needed support in the essential fields.
