Heritage at Risk: Preservation of 20th Century Architecture and World Heritage

17-20 April 2006

This conference is organized in co-operation with ICOMOS International, with the support of World Monuments Fund and DOCOMOMO International, the Russian Academy for Architecture and Building Sciences, Russia's UNESCO Commission, Russia's Ministry for Culture and Mass Communications, the Union of Architects of Russia, the Moscow Union of Architects, the Moscow Committee on Architecture and Town-planning ‘Moskomarchitektura', the Moscow Committee for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage ‘Moskomnasledije', the Schusev Architecture Museum and other national institutions.

Parallel thematic sections of the Conference will be held on Thursday 18th April and Wednesday 19th April 2006. The four sections are:

Section 1: 20th Century Architecture and World Heritage

Section 2: Russian Avant-garde Architecture in an International Context

Section 3: Conservation Practice for 20th Century Architecture

Section 4: 20th Century Built Heritage in Architectural Education
