Anuka (Anna) Lomidze

Anuka Lomidze is a Lecturer and Researcher at Ilia State University in the Soviet-Post Soviet Studies Program. She specializes in visual art and film, and teaches creative writing for informal education platforms. Anuka leads the NGO Ahuahu Foundation for Culture and is the co-founder of Caucasus Art Magazine. She has been cooperating with different media sources and art festivals since 1999, and is currently involved in the following socio-cultural projects: “Free Film Screenings Network”; “Environmental Film Clubs in Regions”, “The Power of Film for Activist Women”; “Culture – Language for Communication within Different Groups”; and “Contemporary Art Gallery and Mediatheque”. She works in the reconstruction of Soviet time ropeway stations, and to give a new cultural concept to buildings located in central parks of Tbilisi. Anuka’s work also includes the cultural components of the following issues: the environment, women’s rights, children’s rights, regional development, and pedestrian issues, among others.
