Ms Tamar Topuridze is the Head of Cultural Projects and Programs Department at Tbilisi City Hall. She holds a master’s degree in Modern Greek and Byzantine Studies from Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University, and graduated in 2005. In 2008, Ms Topuridze commenced Greek culture research studies at the Philosophy Faculty of Athens University. In 2014, she graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Faculty of Public Administration and Political Sciences. She has vast experience in working in the fields of culture and education. While living Athens for ten years, she worked as a cultural projects and events coordinator and a Greek language teacher at various centers for Greek philology and culture.  In 2015, she joined the NLE Cultural Events Center in Tbilisi, Georgia, as a principal of the publishing direction and international relations. In her current role as Head of Department since 2017, she defines the priorities of Tbilisi City Hall’s funding in the field of culture, arranges various types of events and supports the development of cultural industries. She co-founded the city hall’s “Creative Tbilisi” program, a contest that she still manages and refines with her team. Ms Topuridze’s efforts were key in the development of the COVID-19 post-crisis action plan for the field of culture.
