United Nations Peacebuilding Fund

The United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) was launched in 2006 to support activities, actions, programmes and organizations that seek to build a lasting peace in countries emerging from conflict. It supports peacebuilding activities that strengthen the capacity of governments, national/local institutions and transitional or other relevant authorities.

PBF funds activities designed to: respond to threats to the peace process, to support the implementation of peace agreements and political dialogue; to build and strengthen national capacities to promote coexistence and peaceful resolution of conflict; to support efforts to revitalize the economy; and to establish essential administrative services and related human and technical capacities.
