International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

18-21 March 2019

To celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, on March 21, the Canadian Commission for UNESCO with the cooperation of the Canadian Coalition of Municipalities Against Racism and Discrimination (CCMARD), member of the International Coalition of Inclusive and Sustainable Cities – ICCAR is launching a social media campaign to raise public awareness about racism and discrimination.

Aiming to create intercultural dialogue and fight stereotypes and prejudices linked to racial discrimination; the campaign encourages people to meet others, discover and learn about different cultures and to share, by social media, a photo or a video of this encounter. All posts should be followed by the hashtags #ItStartsWithMe and #ICCAR and identified with @CCUNESCO and @UNESCO accounts, in order to share with all the community for March 21.
