The Third Interregional Meeting of National Commissions for UNESCO, co-organized by the UNESCO Secretariat and the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, will take place from 13 to 15 June in Shanghai, People's Republic of China .

This third interregional meeting aims to discuss key topics such as the Role of the National Commissions in the implementation of the Agenda 2030, Youth and prevention of violent extremism and protection of our common heritage in the event of armed conflict or attack. Also this meeting will strengthen networking between National Commissions from all regions and promote best practices of National Commissions and enhance the Organization’s work and optimize their contribution to UNESCO programmes. A one-day meeting will be dedicated to the Consultation with Member States for the preparation of UNESCO Draft Programme and Budget for 2018-2021(39C/5).

Approximately 150 participants coming from more than 120 National Commissions will participate in this event.
