WPFD 2010: UNESCO Doha Office

Freedom of Expression Conference 2010 (3 May 2010, Kuwait)

A conference to celebrate World Press Freedom Day will be held in Kuwait, organized jointly by UNESCO Doha, the Liberties and Human Rights Affairs Department, at Al-Jazeera Network –Qatar, and the Kuwaiti Association for the Basic Evaluators of Human Rights – Kuwait. 

More than 40 media specialists from all the Arab countries and Arab Gulf countries will be invited to participate at the meeting. The conference will cover the topics of independent media and the safety of journalists, building media capacity for intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding, the role of the media in promoting interreligious dialogue and mutual understanding, media and enhanced dialogue as a tool for empowerment, and freedom of expression and human rights.
