WPFD 2010: UNESCO Islamabad Office

)Within the framework of the Communication and Information Sector´s Main Line of Action “Promoting freedom of expression and access to information,” Pakistan Press Foundation submitted a request to UNESCO to organize press freedom awards for outstanding journalists in the year 2009-10. This prestigious award recognizes the courage and professional commitment of Pakistani journalists and media organizations and seeks to bring national and international attention to the state of freedom of press in Pakistan. In the long term, the awards aim to promote a culture of freedom of expression in the country.
