Young Television Producers and HIV & AIDS

The work of the Global Network of Young TV Producers on HIV and AIDS includes activities to upgrade the professional competence of young television producers reporting on the disease. Among the immediate outcomes are short films and documentary scripts.

In the Pacific, a series of training workshops has been launched, in cooperation with the Regional Media Centre of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC).

Two short documentaries addressing HIV/AIDS issues in Fiji were produced in a first workshop held in Suva, Fiji from 12-23 June 2006.

A second two-week workshop on advanced documentary and script writing (Suva, 16-27 July 2007) saw the launch of three short documentaries on HIV & AIDS, prepared by young media producers from Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.
