Management of Wastes

UNESCO's contribution to the "Management of wastes" chapter in the Mauritius Strategy comes mainly through work on water resources within the framework of the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) and the UNESCO International Centre for Walter Education (UNESCO-IHE) in Delft (Netherlands). A primary regional focus is in the Pacific region, through cooperative partnerships with a range of bilateral, regional and international bodies. Waste management also figures in field projects associated with the UNESCO platform on Small Island Developing States and more particularly with the cross-sectoral initiative on Youth Visioning for Island Living.
