To improve data quality, the UIS organizes training workshops on the production and use of internationally-comparable data for national statistical offices and relevant line ministries.

Training workshops generally focus on: 

The workshops enable national statisticians to take an active role in improving the UIS database. By explaining how statistics are collected and used in their countries, statisticians help to develop UIS methodologies and survey design.
