Mr Carlos Aguilar Navarro was born in Panama on December 18, 1963. He graduated from Colegio Fermín Naudeau. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Panama (Sigma Lambda, 1987). He studied film production at the International School of Cinema and Television of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba (EICTV) in 1991. Currently, he is Minister of Culture of the Republic of Panama. He was Director of Televisora Educativa Canal 11 (2004) and later created the Law that grants autonomy to the Sistema Estatal de Radio y Televisión (SERTV), and remained as Director General (2005-2009). He worked in different audiovisual areas: he was an advertisement producer for Campagnani Publicidad; plant manager of FETV-5; he entered RPC-TV4 in 1993 (he made Son del Sabor, Open Forum, Aires de mi Tierra); in 1997 he worked at TVN2 as head of production and general pro-producer of news; he founded Productora Clandestinos S.A. (1999) with his brother Ricardo Aguilar, making productions for television channels; and his work for Medcom includes Vivimos un Secreto, El abuelo de mi abuela (co-production), Sabor Latino, Aires de mi Tierra (producer), and the series Nuestras Artes.
