Jordan Naidoo

Strategic leadership, policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, peacebuilding, and education reform.

Dr Jordan Naidoo is the Acting Director of IIEP-UNESCO. Prior to joining IIEP, Jordan was Director at the UNESCO Kabul Office and Country Representative to Afghanistan. From 2015 to 2019, he was the Director of the Division of Education 2030 Support and Coordination, leading UNESCO’s global coordination of the SDG4-Education 2030 Agenda in Paris.

From 2010 to 2015 he served as Senior Education Advisor at UNICEF in New York, where he was responsible for strategy and research on equity and innovation in education. Previous positions included Director- Basic Education - Save the Children USA; Program Associate Turning Points Center For Collaborative Education, Boston, USA; Policy Analyst Center for Education Policy Development (CEPD) Johannesburg South Africa, Researcher Education Policy Unit – University of Natal Durban South Africa. He worked directly on programmes in Indonesia, Nepal, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Haiti, South Africa, and the US among others.

He has extensive experience and expertise in policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, teaching and learning, decentralization, governance and democratization in education, peacebuilding and education in fragile contexts, and education reform.

Education

M.Ed. from the University of Natal, South Africa, and Doctor of Education (D.Ed.) from Harvard University.

Publications

Among other publications, he was the editor of the Springer publication, Community Schools in Africa - Reaching the Unreached.
