The Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE), Bhopal is a constituent unit of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), which is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The Institute advises and assists the Central and State Governments on policy planning and implementation of vocationalisation of education and vocational education and training. It develops competency-based curricula, courseware and e-learning materials for vocationalisation of education in schools.

The Institute has six Departments, namely (i) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, (ii) Business and Commerce, (iii) Engineering and Technology, (iv) Health and Paramedical, (v) Home Science and Hospitality Management, (vi) Humanities, Science, Education and Research.

The Centre/Cell includes the following: (i) Curriculum Development and Evaluation Centre, (ii) Centre for International Relationship, (iii) Programme Planning and Monitoring Centre, (iv) National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) Cell, (v) ICT Centre.

The Institute is functioning as the UNEVOC Network Centre in India.

PSSCIVE’s vision is to be a leading organization to strengthen vocational education and training (VET) system to meet the skills needs of the current and future workforce. It aims to build the capacity of VET institutions for meeting the skill needs of current and future workforce.
