Knowledge exchange

  • SDG Affinity Group - UNESCO-UNEVOC actively collaborates with the WFCP and the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) through hosting regular knowledge exchange meetings of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Affinity Group. The SDG Affinity Group’s vision is to advance the awareness and adoption of the SDGs as integral to TVET learning, through knowledge exchange, bridging of experiences and the creation of an engaged community of practice encompassing a diversity of views while working to embed SDG principles through the processes and practices of each institution to ensure no one is left behind.

Youth engagement

UNESCO and UNESCO-UNEVOC mobilize young people to actively contribute to reach the SDGs and engage in climate-related advocacy in their schools, institutions and communities.

  • #WYSD - Every year on 15 July, UNESCO-UNEVOC celebrates World Youth Skills Day (WYSD). We encourage vocationally-trained youth and young professionals to share stories about their learning journey that will help to inspire others. Tell us how you are using your knowledge, skills and competencies to achieve excellence in your chosen field.
  • #TrashHack campaign - UNESCO mobilizes youth networks and communities to advocate for reducing waste. Trash Hacks are small actions to reduce waste which can lead to big ideas for the planet. Join UNESCO to Trash Hack your life, neighbourhood and the world with Education for Sustainable Development.

  • #YoU-CAN - The Youth UNESCO Climate Action Network (YoU-CAN) was officially launched during COP25 in December 2019. In line with the UNFCCC Paris Agreement, aimed to significantly reduce the risks and impacts of climate change, YoU-CAN was created with a view to supporting and facilitating youth-led climate action to reach its full potential and impact, by building on existing relevant youth action in the areas of Natural Sciences, Education, Culture, Social and Human Sciences, Communication and Information.
