Sub-regional consultations in preparation for the 2nd Asia-Pacific Education Minister’s Conference (APREMC-II)

Sub-regional consultations in preparation for the 2nd Asia-Pacific Education Minister’s Conference (APREMC-II)

first page of the paperIn preparation for APREMC-II, a series of four sub-regional consultations were organized across the Asia-Pacific region in (i) Central Asia, (ii) East Asia and South-East Asia, (iii) South and West Asia, and (iv) the Pacific. The objective is to identify the diverse needs and priorities of the different sub-regions. This will facilitate a contextualized approach that will inform the ministerial dialogue at APREMC-II. It will also contribute to the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) and the Transforming Education Summit (TES).

More specifically, the subregional consultations aim to identify existing and future challenges and make recommendations for contextualized priority areas and strategies for action for learning recovery, with the added goal of transforming education systems. This takes into consideration each subregions’ unique environment. The overall objective is to accelerate progress towards SDG4.
