Yaba College of Technology

Yaba College of Technology was established in 1947 as a successor to Yaba Higher College, Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Nigeria. It has a mandate to provide full-time and part-time courses of instruction and training in Technology, Applied Science, Commerce and Management and in fields of applied learning relevant to technical, vocational and industrial needs of Nigeria.

Yaba College of Technology has a population of 20,000 students and 1,900 staff, and comprises of nine Schools, namely School of Art, Design & Printing, School of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, School of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering, School of Environment Studies, School of Liberal Studies, School of Management and Business Studies, School of Science, School of Technical Education, School of Technology, and 46 Departments with well over 40 Academic Programmes. It offers B.Sc in Technical and Vocational Education Programmes such as Business Education, Industrial Technical Education, Mathematics Education, Fine Arts Education, Integrated Science Education and Computer Education. These Programmes are run in affiliation with University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State.

Yaba College of Technology is the first higher institution in Nigeria to establish a Centre of Entrepreneurship Development with strong linkages with the world of commerce and industry. The Centre trains students in skill development for self reliance and as well exposes them to the world of work.
