The “Days of Vranje” placed intangible cultural heritage at the core
From 27 to 31 August, Vranje, a Creative City of Music, was animated by its cultural festival “Days of Vranje”.
This cultural manifestation, which has reached its 18th edition, is organized annually by Vranje Tourist Organization with the support of the Municipality of Vranje. Furthermore, it is also one of the pillars of the city’s action plan as a UNESCO Creative City.
This year, the “Days of Vranje” was characterized by its richness in crosscutting cultural events covering different creative fields such as music, crafts and folk art, gastronomy, film and literature.
As customary, the festival was inaugurated with a parade of folkloric costumes on the city's main promenade, followed by folk dance performances in the city park. Over the course of the five days, the citizens of Vranje and beyond were able to enjoy a diverse programme including a book fair, an Ethno Bazaar, several concerts, performances of trumpet orchestras, literary evenings, theater plays, gastronomic workshops, and film screenings.
Once again, the “Days of Vranje” proved to be an invaluable moment for the city of Vranje, celebrating the richness and vibrancy of its intangible cultural heritage and fostering the participation of its citizens in diversified cultural activities.
