Youth Participation and Empowerment: UNESCO Asia-Pacific In Graphic Detail #8

Youth Participation and Empowerment: UNESCO Asia-Pacific In Graphic Detail #8

Of the 700 million young people are in the Asia-Pacific, about 85 million live in extreme poverty, with many others facing major challenges ranging from limited education and employment to health and marginalization issues. Youth participation is not only about including young people, but also of them taking the lead on their own to build peaceful, inclusive societies of the future. Coinciding with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, UNESCO Bangkok spotlights the essential role of young people in the region, with the latest in a series of infographics.

These infographics convey core concepts of UNESCO’s work in areas that profoundly affect the lives of people throughout the region.

We encourage everyone to share widely and utilise these resources in their own projects and campaigns.
