Key objectives of the measure:

Nigeria is a multi ethnic and multi linguist  country.The existence of minority groups with  rich cultural heritage is however inevitable.To this effect this measure among s many is intended to:

The promote  the cultural diversity in Nigeria;

To protect the customs,heritage and interest of minority groups;

To encourage social inclusion in Nigerian society.

Ensure that the culture,history,identity and heritage of minority groups in Nigeria are tied  to their individual socio-economic well-being;

Strengthen and enforce equity to ensure fairness as contained in the  application of the principles of Federal character.

Results expected through the implementation of the measure:

Enhancement of equity and balanced cultural expressions;

A sense of  belonging and nationality of the minority groups;

An institutional framework for inter-cultural dialogue and conflict resolution
