Muharraq organizes an online photography exhibition ‘Inspired by Muharraq’

Thu, 06/25/2020

Muharraq (Bahrain), a UNESCO Creative City of Design since 2019 has set up an online photography exhibition titled 'Inspired by Muharraq'. The exhibition aims to highlight the architectural scenes and skyline of the city, which has undergone a series of changes, including upgrades and restorations, giving the audience the opportunity to engage with a wealth of inspiring material.

Highlighting the importance of the relationship between culture and tourism through the old city of Muharraq, the exhibition encourages interactions and discourses between culture, design, history and the art of photography. The city also intends to recreate social ties by engaging its residents in cultural activities and thus ensure the continuity of creativity and cultural synergies amidst the global health crisis.

The exhibition also exhibits a series of work submitted through an open call that received more than 120 submissions, from various countries, including Bangladesh India and Tunisia amongst others.
