For the fourth consecutive year, Košice, a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts since 2017, offers media artists and scientists a two-month residency programme. The residency, which will take place in autumn 2022, has been co-organized by the Municipality, Creative Industry Košice and KAIR (Košice Artists in Residence).

Under the theme of “Behavioural Change”, the upcoming edition will combine art and science and focus on exploring the ways that technology affects human behaviour, by challenging our understanding of behavioural norms, expectations and actions in both physical and digital worlds. Interested duos composed of one artist and one scientist, born, living or working in a UNESCO Creative City, were invited to apply for the programme, aimed at providing a space for networking, and experiences and knowledge sharing. The project invites the duos not only to explore and develop their work but also to immerse themselves in the local community, by taking active part in the local cultural and creative scene and promoting their own work in Košice.

The continuity and success of this annual programme demonstrate Košice’s steady commitment to investing in creative talents while encouraging international exchanges and cross-sector synergies.
