The Basic Texts are conceived as a practical tool for all those concerned – government officials, policy makers, NGOs and international organizations – to better understand the functioning of the 2003 Convention to ensure optimum implementation. They are periodically revised to reflect the resolutions of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the Convention.
2022 edition
The latest edition (English|French|Spanish in preparation|Russian in preparation|Arabic in preparation|Chinese in preparation) includes the amendments to the Operational Directives for the Implementation of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage adopted by the General Assembly of the States Parties to the Convention at its ninth session (UNESCO Headquarters, 5 to 7 July 2022), as well as the revised Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly of the States Parties approved at the same session.
