Twinnings and Cultural Alliances

© UNESCO

The twinning and cultural alliances component of the UNESCO Transcultura Programme aims to foster cultural collaboration and the exchange of good practices between individuals, artists' associations, initiatives and individual or collective projects from the Caribbean and Europe.

In particular, twinnings correspond to short-term exchanges between cultural events and festivals in the Caribbean and European countries, while partnerships refer to strategic associations with high-level international initiatives to provide timely showcases and launching platforms for emerging artists and professionals from the cultural and creative industries sector.

By encouraging and harnessing these modalities of people-to-people cooperation, based on mobility and exchange, this component promotes long-term knowledge transfer and peer learning in the cultural and creative industries and facilitates access to markets.
