Science for and with Society in dealing with Covid 19
Background
Gender inclusion in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) is one of UNESCO’s global priority. For advancing dialogues around empowerment of women in science, the organisation has initiated various activities including, UNESCO-L’Oreal for Women in Science Partnership (FWIS), Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), STEM and Gender Advancement (SAGA) and Gender in Science, Innovation, Technology and Engineering (GenderinSITE), to name few.
On the occasion of World science Day, 10 November, UNESCO New Delhi in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India is organising a webinar on this year’s theme: Science for and with Society, keeping into consideration the broader objective to create synergies between Science and Society. The Webinar will discuss various challenges and opportunities which are critical for harnessing STI to build inclusive, agile and sustainable societies.
