The "Arab Latinos!" side event will take place on December 16, 2022 and will present the plan of action developed at an expert meeting in São Paulo, Brazil in August 2022. Experts from the "Arab Latinos!" group will discuss their contributions to intercultural dialogue in literature and translation.
The "Arab Latinos!" plan of action includes four pillars and aims to support intercultural dialogue and exchange in five Latin American countries for a period of five years, from 2023 to 2027. It involves all countries in the Arab States and the Latin America and Caribbean region, as defined by UNESCO, and aims to structure a new intercultural dialogue route at UNESCO.
UNESCO’s e-Platform on Intercultural Dialogue presents the new “Arab Latinos!” intercultural route on 28 November 2022, during the 2nd Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination, Mexico City.

Five types of intercultural dialogue projects: intercultural dialogue carried out through (i) arts and culture, (ii) physical/sporting activities, (iii) physical and virtual exchange programmes, (iv) capacity and skills-building measures, (iv) empowerment initiatives, and (v) research. This survey takes stock of how Member States conceptualize and operationalize intercultural dialogue at the national level, as well as mapping how it is considered useful in the future.
The first section considers the state of youth participation and explores the models that assist in defining, analysing and evaluating participation. It notes the lack of reliable and comprehensive data and provides an overview of the European policy landscape. The second section considers the new and emerging trends in participation and youth activism.
