Call for Participation in Street Design International Challenge 2022

Call for Participation in Street Design International Challenge 2022

When:
Thu, 08/25/2022 to Sat, 12/31/2022

The “Street Design International Challenge 2022 - Biophilic Edition”, a collaborative initiative led by Creative Cities of Design of Curitiba, Querétaro and Wuhan, is currently open. Interested eligible participants are invited to complete their registration by 18 September.

Taking place from 12 to 14 November, the “Street Design Challenge 2022” is a two-day competition for university students to share their visions on how public space design can improve the quality of life in the communities. In this year’s edition, students will be challenged to create a proposal, within 48 hours, to revamp a peri-urban street through biophilic design. The challenge is aimed at raising awareness on the discussions arisen during COP27 next November, as well as the impact of climate change in the urban environment, its detriments to the quality of urban lives, and necessary actions to transform cities into more livable, enjoyable, and inclusive environments for all.

With this joint effort of the Youth and Education Working Group, Creative Cities of Design aspire to foster international cooperation, as well as promote interdisciplinary pathways that highlight the importance of design and devise creativity to advance sustainable urban development.
