The 2022 International Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris (France) from 14 to 16 December 2022, under the theme “Breaking barriers – What role for civil society organizations towards a sustainable future”.

The Conference is a key forum in which UNESCO’s official NGO partners meet to review the state of cooperation with UNESCO. This year’s Conference will provide a welcome opportunity to examine collective NGO action carried out in 2021 and 2022 and consider the main lines of collective cooperation for 2023-2024. Moreover, participants will be called upon to elect a new Chairperson for the Conference, as well as a new NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee.

The International Conference of NGOs gathers every two years NGOs in official partnership with the Organization. Representatives of Member States, foundations in official relations with UNESCO, other NGOs and/or other interested organizations may also attend the Conference as observers.

Any additional information and working documents are available on the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee website (https://ngo-unesco.net/icngo-2022).
