The sixteen State Museums, in line with the mission and objectives of each of them and within the framework of the Museums + Social plan, continuously develop initiatives aimed at enhancing their social dimension and the dissemination of democratic and citizenship values, establishing themselves as participatory and active institutions in the configuration of a plural society, and promote the values of equality, coexistence and tolerance, also encouraging dialogue with society, encouraging their participation inside and outside the museum itself. That is why the Plan is configured as an opportunity to: Make visible the importance of the social action of museums and reflect on it. Have a rational diagnosis of the situation at the time of its implementation. Define the objectives to be achieved and identify the main lines of action that enable the establishment of strategies, the formulation of prioritized programs and actions, and the implementation of methodologies. Define realistic and sufficient methodologies for action and monitoring, control and evaluation instruments. The attraction and loyalty of public from the nearby environment is one of the strategic lines that are being developed in the field of State Museums. Undoubtedly, an active way of integrating the cultural sector in the social development of the localities in which museums are located and of attracting to these institutions those publics that are not represented among their audiences as is the case. of young people, those over 65 or people without education or with primary education.
