Guidelines for Regulating Digital Platforms
UNESCO is engaged in a series of consultations to develop Guidelines focusing on the structures and processes needed to ensure users have a safer and more critical interaction with online content, to simultaneously support freedom of expression and the availability of accurate and reliable information in the public sphere. The Conference will be a key moment to gain further insights from the various stakeholders to inform the Guidelines. UNESCO will be undertaking further consultations to finalize the Guidelines in the months following the conference.
Draft 2.0 of the Guidelines for regulating digital platforms: a multi-stakeholder approach to safeguarding freedom of expression and access information is publicly available on the conference website.
This draft was discussed during the Internet for Trust conference on 22 and 23 February.
