Describe the main features of the policy/measure:
The status of the artist is a key area for the further development of the cultural and creative sector and is a direct response to the crisis. It also represents one of the Council's six key priorities under the Working
Plan for Culture 2019-2022 (i.e. an ecosystem supporting artists and workers of the cultural
and creative industries and European content). As such, the status of the artist contributes to the
European pillar of social rights and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals
of the UN (SDG 8 and SDG 10). Last but not least, it should be noted that the cultural and creative sector is an essential
sector for youth and women's employment.
