Parma (Italy), a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, will organize online the third “Italian Youth Forum” on 27 March. The forum aims to engage in a dialogue with youth on sustainable development challenges and to discuss on the innovative solutions to be devised to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Recognizing the power of youth and young generations towards building sustainable and resilient societies, the 2021 edition will focus on five main topics related to sustainable development: culture, environment, food, education, and urban regeneration. A wide range of activities will be convened such as talks and video messages from experts on the main topics, as well as artistic and musical interludes.
Thanks to the support of the Italian Youth Association for UNESCO (AIGU), which promotes the Organization’s values and objectives to local communities in Italy, more than 400 young people, aged 18 to 35, will be mobilized to participate in the Forum via various educational initiatives and projects. High-level representatives from local and national authorities, international institutions, and local businesses committed to social and environmental sustainability are also foreseen to actively participate in the event.
On this occasion, the Manifesto "Next Generation You", in line with the 2030 Agenda, will be launched and proposed to the Italian Government as an addendum to the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience.
The Forum will be live streamed in Italian and English.
