UNESCO Representative in Tanzania and Chinese Ambassador discuss partnership and collaboration during courtesy visit

On 21 March 2023, Mr. Michel Toto, the UNESCO Dar es Salaam Head of Office and Representative in the United Republic of Tanzania, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Chen Mingjian, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the United Republic of Tanzania. The meeting aimed to express appreciation to China for its support and collaboration with UNESCO in the development of the Education Sector in the United Republic of Tanzania, with specific emphasis on the UNESCO China Fund-in-Trust (CFIT) Project since 2015.

During the meeting, both parties acknowledged China's support in the Education sector, and the Ambassador expressed her desire for increased collaboration in the areas of Education, Culture, and Scientific projects, including on ICTs. Mr. Toto warmly welcomed the Ambassador's participation in the upcoming CFIT III Project Annual Conference scheduled to take place from 13 - 15 June 2023, and both parties reaffirmed their commitment to work together towards achieving their common goals in Education, Culture, and Scientific projects, and strengthening the relationship between Tanzania and China.
