The future of schooling in Italy

LaScuola

The Italian Journal Quaderni di pedagogia della scuola has released two issues  devoted to reflections on the future of schools in Italy, taking as a key reference point the 2021 UNESCO report on the International Commission on the Futures of Education, Reimagining our Futures Together: A new social contract for education.

These two thematic issues, that are freely available on-line, offer theoretical reflections on the fundamental principles that should guide the future of schooling in Italy, present research and studies highlighting some of the recommendations presented in the 2021 report from the International Commission on the Futures of Education, and explore some of the topics covered therein, including, but not limited to: renewed curricula and pedagogies of cooperation and solidarity; the transformation of the role of teachers; changes in the educational institutions; new educational scenarios between formal and non-formal learning.

Check it out:

  • The first issue dedicated to the theme "School: Laboratory of the Future" brings together reflections from experts and scholars on the challenges facing education today and in the future.
  • The second issue presents additional analyses and experiences of pedagogical and school innovation.

Quaderni di pedagogia della scuola is an Italian Journal specialized in school pedagogy for scholars, pedagogists and practitioners. It is published by Gruppo Editoriale La Scuola SEI based in Brescia —the co-publisher of the recently released Italian version of the Reimagining our Futures Together report.
