Broadening access to AI for youth

AI is impacting human rights worldwide. Raising awareness on the matter in 2021, UNESCO and UNITAR jointly a short online learning course on AI and Human Rights for young adults aged 16 to 24. The course focuses on how the development of AI affects:

  • the freedom of expression,
  • the right to privacy,
  • the right to equality.

It features the work of experts breaking down complex concepts about AI into straightforward activities built around our daily technology interactions. The online course is free, accessible to everyone, and currently available in English, French, Spanish, Chinese and Russian; a list of languages that the call for translators aims at broadening by involving young people and youth workers.

Make an Impact

Participating in this project is the opportunity for young volunteers to take part in a collective effort to promote the defense of human rights in the age of AI. Such experience can be of interest for anyone working actively in fostering knowledge on topics related to digital transformation. People keen on being the point of contact between the course and the youth of their country are highly encouraged to apply.
