The protestor and the photographer. Sudan, June 2019. Mohamed Yousif and his friends are taking part in the uprising against military rule. Yasuyoshi Chiba, chief photographer for Agence France-Presse, is covering developments in the capital Khartoum. Mohamed becomes ‘world news’ when Chiba’s picture of him - taken during a rally when he is reciting a freedom poem - wins the World Press Photo 2020 award.

The video aims to make the public aware of the seriousness of the Coronavirus and the methods of spreading and how to prevent it. The video is a short theatrical play targeting people with special needs using Sudanese sign language.

The #DontGoViral campaign is an online campaign to crowdsource local openly licensed content to inform communities across Africa about COVID-19. All submissions to #DontGoViral will adhere to a Creative Commons License and will be released to the public so they can be remixed, adapted, translated, and disseminated. Participants will also be requested to ensure that all themes and guidelines expressed conform with official health agency and WHO recommendations.

Political and economic arrangements of governments are not enough to secure the lasting and sincere support of the peoples. Peace must be founded upon dialogue and mutual understanding. Peace must be built upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of humanity.
