Open call for the submission of food films for the San Antonio Film Festival
From 8 January to 29 April, UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy and of Film are invited to submit entries for the Food Film Category of the San Antonio Film Festival (SAFILM).
Promoted by San Antonio, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, the Food Film Category aims to celebrate the food film genre, and is therefore welcoming proposals for short and feature-length, as well as animated, documentary and experimental films revolving around the theme of food and cooking.
This year in its 29th edition foreseen from 1 to 6 August 2023, the San Antonio Film Festival is expected to gather a wide range of attendees from around the world, including filmmakers, industry professionals and cinephiles. In addition to film screenings, the SAFILM will also offer a series of workshops to promote San Antonio's film culture and provide filmmakers with an opportunity to network, share ideas and advance their careers.
Through the establishment of the Food Film Category, the city of San Antonio is fostering cross-sectoral partnerships and collaborations, especially amongst Creative Cities of Gastronomy and of Film, thus promoting a holistic vision to development through culture and creativity across the Network.
