On 14 June 2023 the Regional Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights OHCHR in Central Asia organized a consultative meeting with bloggers opinion leaders and media representatives on combating hate speech Fifteen media professionals as well as experts from OHCHR UNESCO Almaty Office and Media Policy Institute Public Fund discussed exciting issues of combating and protection mechanisms against hate speech concepts and notions of hate speech and freedom of speech deciphered by practical examples the definition of content that meets international standards UNESCO showed participants of the event the results of recent research on freedom of speech and content moderation for peace and social cohesion in Kyrgyzstan supported by UNDP
