SHORT DESCRIPTION

Research is being carried out at the Children's Learning Laboratory (ÇÖL) on how children learn and how we can improve their learning experiences. Our research focuses on learning key concepts and problem-solving procedures in mathematics, with an emphasis on experiences that encourage learning. Main research topics in the lab include roles of patterning skills at an early age in mathematics learning in future years, perceptions of algebraic expressions of high school students, and development of the number line concept in children of different ages and related cognitive factors.
