High-level meeting for the launch of phase II of the project on participative governance in Panama

On April 27 2022, the official launch of the phase II of the project "Designing measures to establish a participatory and transparent system of governance for culture in Panama", supported by the European Union, took place at a high-level meeting in the presence of the Minister of Culture of Panama, Ms. Giselle González Villarrué, the Head of Regional Cooperation for Central America, Costa Rica and Panama of the European Union Delegation, Mr. Alberto Menghini, and the Director of the UNESCO Cluster Office in San José with representation for Panama, Mr. Francesc Pedro.

The first phase of the project enabled the development of the National Creative Economy Strategy "CREA in Panama 2030", to position the creative economy as a pillar of the country's economic and cultural development in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The second phase of the project seeks now to consolidate the implementation of this strategy through capacity building, strengthening the gender approach in its implementation and articulation with a future National Culture Plan.
