Describe the main features of the policy/measure:
The State Program "The theatre of Azerbaijan in 2009-2019" included concluding special provisions (part 2.11) which literally referred to "Organization of education in foreign countries related to theatre art within framework of the relevant programs, agreements and contracts". This measure implied establishing partnership agreements and contracts with education institutions abroad to support exchange and internships opportunities in the field of theatre. With this particular measure, the state was seeking to enlarge possible employment opportunities for theatre artists and develop diverse learning experiences for young artists.
What are the results achieved so far through the implementation of the policy/measure?:
Within the framework of the implementation of provisions 2.11 of the State Program "The theatre of Azerbaijan in 2009-2019", a series of bilateral negotiations were launched with potential partner institutions of the neighbouring countries. As a result, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the B.Shukin Theater Institute under the Y.Vakhtangov State Academic Theater of Russia. In accordance with the agreement, a special actor-director course for Azerbaijani students was established at the B.Shukin Theater Institute. During the teaching process, Azerbaijani students had opportunity to travel, study in Russia and participate in several staged performances. This cooperation resulted in a joint performance of theatre artists from both countries in June 2019 (performances "Qafqazsayagı tebashir dairesi" and "Aesop") on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater.
Financial resources allocated to the policy/measure in USD:
The measures envisaged by the State Program were funded from the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including funds provided for the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the state budget, as well as other sources in conformity with the legislation of the country.
