How Higher Learning Institutions are Committed to Sustaining O3 Plus Programs

UNESCO through the Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future Plus project, also known as O3 Plus, recently brought together key partners including line ministries (Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Community Development ), NATCOM, UN agencies (ILO, UNFPA), 13 Higher Learning Institutions, Tanzania Higher Learning Institutions Students` Organization (TAHLISO), Peer educator’s representatives and leaders of Students Government for a discussion on how to sustain provider’s led peer assisted & CSE online programs in higher learning institutions in Tanzania that are benefiting from the O3 Plus project.

Project Beneficiaries, including peer educators, have designed strategies to sustain the gains of the intervention that have improved access and delivery of services to over 100,000 young women and men in 16 higher learning Institutions in Tanzania. 

As Students’ government leaders, we will collaborate with deans of students’ offices and university management to make sure that the introduced programs sustain

The mechanism developed, builds on providers’-led peer-assisted and CSE online course programs in their respective campuses beyond the project cycle.

Health and well-being for learners is very essential, sustaining programs as these will help young people in higher learning realize their education journey smoothly

Currently, UNESCO’s O3 Plus project has trained 375 peer educators who have reached 2,644 (1356 M,1288 F) students and more than 2000 learners have enrolled in CSE online course.
