One of the fundamental commitments of the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE) of OREALC/UNESCO Santiago for the development of the Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study (ERCE 2025) consists of the installation and strengthening of the technical capacities of the participating national teams. To this end, the first workshop for 2023 addresses the development of items for ERCE 2025 in particular, and the development of large-scale test items in general.

Objectives

  • To understand the quality criteria for the elaboration of multiple-choice and open-response items and their respective rubrics.
  • To know methodological options to reduce possible biases of the items at the moment of selecting them for the final test and recommendations to avoid them from their construction.
  • To elaborate, review and reformulate items for each of the curricular areas evaluated in ERCE, based on the specification tables.
