This special account supports the IOC Function D: Assessment and information for policy as per the approved IOC Medium Term Strategy 2022-2029. The IOC work in the area of assessments and information for policy is fully consistent with the international commitments related to global assessment of the environment (in particular World Ocean Assessment, IPBES, IPCC and some regional assessments) as well as the role of IOC in the development and reporting on specific SDG indicators, and the Development of pilot report of the State of the Ocean (SToR)
