Le programme visera à accompagner les Etats Parties à apporter des réponses aux défis de gestion auxquels sont confrontés les 18 sites du patrimoine mondial de l'Afrique de l'Ouest/Sahel, exacerbés par la crise sécuritaire et la persistance de la pandémie de COVID 19. A la lumière du plan d'action Afrique 2022-2027, issu du 3e cycle des rapports périodique et afin de contribuer à l'atteinte des objectifs du Flagship Programme 3, l'appui sera axé sur le renforcement des capacités locales en matière de gestion du patrimoine mondial ; le soutien aux efforts nationaux pour le retrait de sites de la Liste du patrimoine en péril ; l'appui à de nouvelles candidatures ; la mobilisation des fonds et la fédération de partenaires et la célébration du 50e anniversaire de la Convention
