Project ID 2210622071

This activity prioritizes awareness raising to promote freedom of expression, access to information and safety of journalists through the commemoration of the World Press Freedom Day, the International Day on End to Impunity for Crimes against Journalists and the International Day for Universal Access to Information. The UN Plan of Action on Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity will provide the normative framework for the pursuit of both policy and capacity building initiatives. Prevention, protection, and prosecution will be a core part of this work plan, and will be pursued through a monitoring and reporting strategy, as well as engagement of duty bearers, particularly judicial and security actors.
