UNESCO's component in this project is concerned with engaging media, CSOs, youth, political and religious leaders in tackling hate speech offline and online in order to preserve social cohesion in The Gambia. Project interventions consist of building capacity and raising awareness on MIL, adapting and integrating modules on hate speech, debunking disinformation, and MIL within journalism training institution, and supporting the establishment of mechanisms to monitor and counter hate speech within existing political and religious infrastructures.
